The Bird Watching & Wildlife Club (BWWC) was established in 2008 to offer visitors to the Highlands of Scotland a new kind of wildlife watching experience – one in which their time is their own. We believe in allowing our Guests to create their own unique programme of visits and experiences depending on what it is they most want to see, but we provide a helping hand in doing so. Two full-time staff, Kirsty and Katy, are on hand to offer advice and practical information to Guests when it comes to the best sites to visit for wildlife at any particular time of year. We can also provide information on the huge range of wildlife-related acitivities which may be going on in the area during your stay, from Land Rover Safaris and Boat Trips, to Guided Walks and watches at Evening Hides.
Based at the imposing 50-bedroom Grant Arms Hotel in Grantown-on-Spey, the BWWC has its own unique facility within the Hotel with our Club Room, Natural History Library and 100-seater Lecture Theatre, the ‘Osprey Suite’, where we can screen films and host evening talks from the BWWC Team and a range of visiting guest speakers.
Anyone staying at the Hotel is welcome to use the facilties and join in the events organised by the BWWC Team during their stay. These include Wildlife Briefings most evenings, Wildlife Film screenings, Talks, Quizzes and Guided Walks in Anagach Woods – which covers nearly a thousand acres and is just a five minute walk from the Hotel.
Throughout the year, we also offer Special Event packages, from wildlife photography workshops to special breaks at Christmas and species-focused trips such as our Red Deer Rut break in autumn.
